Davis Bayou Campground, Gulf Islands National Seashore, MS
Checked into the Davis Bayou Campground this afternoon for 2 nights of camping. It was a cloudy day, hence the grey and dark photos of the fishing pier and surrounding views.
On the way to the campground, I stopped at the Welcome Center in AL, sandwiched between FL and MS. Interesting to note that the interior was decorated for Mardi Gras. The volunteer at the desk told me that Mobile was the first city to celebrate Mardi Gras, way before New Orleans and other towns in Louisiana.
I also stopped by Rouses Market just outside the campground in Ocean Springs to get some fresh produce. I discovered Rouses last year when I camped in Mandeville, LA. The store stocked a lot of local and Cajun food. Bought some fresh boiled shrimp and crawfish, as well as a pack of boudin. I was very tempted to
get a king cake as well, but decided to wait.
