Faver-Dykes State Park, St. Augustine
What a rush and a big difference, stepping off a cruise ship into my minivan, spending the night in the minivan instead of a cabin. After buying food, etc., I made it to the Faver-Dykes SP where I will be staying the next 2 nights. The ranger station was closed when I got there at 4:30 pm but there was enough light for me to set up my new tail veil. I was a little apprehensive since I have not done this before, and the veil was quite different from my previous camper tent. Turned out I should not have worried. It was very easy to set up.
While I was doing that my friend Nadine arrived at the campsite in her Class B RV. We will be co-camping on and off until Louisiana. I made a simple veggie soup for dinner and settled for the night. It was strange being back on land, I swore I could feel my minivan vibrating and rolling.
The next day we went on a short hike around the state park and checked out the area.
This was me getting a close up photo of some fungi (photo courtesy of Nadine);
and this is the result.

That tail veil is a pretty nifty invention.
