Rocky Bayou State Park, FL
Took a drive to check out the Fred Gannon Rocky Bayou State Park, a 30 minute drive south of Crestville, FL. Met up with Nadine there and we went on several hikes. It was a beautiful day, mostly sunny. We marvelled at the mossy clumps of vegetation on parts of the trails which we later discovered were called deer lichen.
There was also a campground with very nice sites, worth considering for the future.
This is a beautiful park with a large lake and clear water, with stairs going down to narrow sandy beaches. It appeared to be a good place for kayaking, not so sure about fishing although there were posters displaying the types of saltwater fish that can be found in the waters.
We also exchanged camping stories with a couple who gave us a tip about a BLM camping site with hot springs, Hot Well Dunes Recreational Area in Arizona.
