Fairy chimneys in the Göreme Historical National Park, Turkey
This place is just incredible, too bad that we had so little time to spend here. Also, this was towards the end of a long day and I was just worn out from the sights we had already seen. We needed at least one more day in Cappadocia to appreciate its natural wonders.
The park was crowded with local visitors as it was a weekend. I'm not even going to try to describe the landscape, the photos speak for themselves. I would have loved to hike up some of the hills here, and just sit and contemplate the marvels of nature and the geology of the area.
But wait, we still had one more place to see!! On the way back to the hotel, we passed by Uchisar Castle but did not visit. I thought it was in our itinerary but our tour manager made the right decision to skip it since we were all tired. However we did stop at a lookout to view Pigeon Valley from above. As indicated by the name, there were a lot of pigeons in the area.
