Sultan Ahmed Mosque, aka The Blue Mosque, Istanbul

The sun peeked out in the morning, with promise of a clear day. We checked out of the hotel, the plan was to leave Istanbul for Canakkale. But first, we stopped to visit the Blue Mosque whose official name is Sultan Ahmed Mosque.

I have been to this mosque before. It has a lot of beautiful blue tiles inside (hence the name), although it did not look very blue on the outside. Once again, the ladies had to cover our heads and take off our shoes to enter the mosque.
