Gilchrist Blue Springs State Park, FL

Second day at Manatee Springs SP. Started the day with hot oatmeal seasoned with raisins, scrambled eggs with sausage, spinach and tomatoes, and coffee. I decided to visit another state park in the area, Gilchrist Blue Springs SP. The road to the park entrance was sandy and uneven, no paved parking area. I read that the Park is being developed/ improved. There is a small campground and some cabins close to the springs. there were quite a number of visitors, a few were kayaking.
I took a walk around the small park. The most notable sight was the submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV), in particular the Florida watercress which appeared to be abundance (hard to see in the photo below because of the reflection).
Decided against swimming there, too many people. Returned to Manatee Springs and went swimming there with my new camping friend from site 13 (that was me swimming in the springs below). We pretty much had the springs to ourselves. Went back to the campground, showered and spent my 3rd and last night at site 70.
