Mormon Row, Grand Teton NP
We checked out of Bridge Bay Campground, waved goodby to Yellowstone NP and drove out to Grand Teton NP. The Guide-Along audioguide started telling us what to expect on the route to GTNP.
On the way to Park, we stopped to visit Mormon Row, to check out the historical (restored) Mormon settlement from the 1905s-1950s and to read about the history of the area.
The audio guide recommended having pizza at the Leeks Pizzeria and Marina in Moran, WY, so that's where we went. The restaurant offered a great view of Lake Jackson with the Tetons in the background. There was already a long line at the counter, we had to wait to put in our order, then found a place to sit outside (for the views) and waited some more until our pizza was ready. It was as delicious as reported (of course not the same as pizza in Italy). Debi had a beer with it while I stuck to water since I was driving. Note: the pizza looked greenish because we were sitting under a green/blue umbrella for shade against the sun.
As we drove on to our campsite for the evening, we stopped at several pull offs to take photos of the beautiful scenery.
It was a good thing I did not have any alcohol. We had to go up (and down) Teton Pass in order to get to Driggs, where our campsite was located. There were scary signs about the 10% grade, with warnings to trucks to turn around. It was a harrowing drive for me, as I focused on getting the engine and brakes not to over heat. By the time we got to Driggs, it was starting to get dark. We did not take any photos of the route there.
